How to Easily Annotate Images and Send Website Changes to a Developer

Step 1: Open Google Drawings

Go to Google Drawings If you’re not logged in, sign in with your Google account

Step 2: Take a Screenshot of a Section of a Web Page

For Windows:

  1. Press Windows + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool

  2. Select the portion of the web page you want to capture

  3. The screenshot will be copied to your clipboard Paste it by pressing Ctrl + V in a document or image editor

For Mac:

  1. Press Command + Shift + 4

  2. Click and drag to select the area of the web page you want to capture

The screenshot will be saved to your desktop automatically

Step 3: Insert Your Image into Google Drawings

  1. Click on Insert in the top menu

  2. Click on “Image” and choose “Upload from Computer”

  3. Select your saved screenshot or image

Step 4: Add Annotations

  1. Use the toolbar at the top for annotations:

  2. Text Box: Click the “Text box” icon, then click and drag on your image to add text

  3. Shapes: Use the “Shapes” menu to add arrows, circles, or other shapes

  4. Lines/Arrows: Click on the line tool and choose a straight line, arrow, or curve

  5. Resize or reposition your annotations by dragging the corners or edges

Step 5: Customize Appearance

  1. Change colors, fonts, and line thickness using the formatting options in the toolbar

  2. Use Arrange > Order to layer elements (eg, bring shapes to the front or send them behind your image)

Step 6: Save and Share

Once your annotations are complete, click File > Download and choose your preferred format:

  • PNG or JPG for images

  • PDF for documents
